I swear to stop spamming after this, but HOLY SHIT, F-LIST.

All of you in California, are you guys okay? Well, if you aren't I guess you might not be able to respond, but please tell me you are.

I'm fine, btw. The air smelled like smoke this morning, but it doesn't seem like any of those fires are coming my way. *knocks wood*
15th-May-2008 02:30 pm - I LOVE MY STATE.
kissy kissy
OMG. OMFG.

OH MY FUCKING GOD.

CALIFORNIA IS OFFICIALLY THE COOLEST STATE EVER, Y/MFY?

AMIRITE OR AMIRITE?

Well, not coolest in the sense of temperature. It's 96 fucking degrees here in Berkeley, which is insanely hot for this part of California. We're right on the ocean, the COLD part of the ocean. We're supposed to get FOG and TEMPERATE WEATHER, damn it.

I am so not taking Milo until it cools off a bit. >.>

I went to get my iPod fixed today, but my warranty's run out. So I got the one my dad bought and hasn't used, which is annoyingly white (I really like the black Mac products better, I tend to get white things dirty, especially clothing D:) but it's 80GB so I guess I can't really complain. If he ever decides to use an iPod, he can use mine with the messed up headphone jack or he can pay to get it fixed; for now, this is the cheapest way to make everyone happy.

I named it the same thing (Leeuwenhoek) but I haven't gotten used to it yet. I'm gonna miss my little black 30GB, and if he gets it fixed, unless I've gotten attached to this one/actually used more space than would fit on the 30GB by then, I may well ask for it back. :(

Other than that, today was a rather typical Saturday in my family's household. Predictably, I was the last one to wake, to an empty household; my mom and brother had gone to my brother's soccer game, and my dad was out taking my dog for a walk.

I spent a good hour in Trader Joe's (we love that store :D) and far more time than I needed to in the Apple store, cause... it's the Apple store. We ate dinner outside cause it's over 70 degrees today (by my widget, it's still 72 F), which is fantastic next to Colorado, where it was hailing and thundering the day I left. Although I do kinda miss the rain, and I think I missed the entire rainy season here.

It was in that kind of nice weather that we went down to the Marina and blew bubbles, talked about pot (yes, with my mother) and soccer and the plants, and played music really loudly in the car on the way back. I'm tired now, but it was a good day. And I've been promised a shopping spree for when I lose weight, plus if I get a job I might be able to get the car that the people down the street are selling (for like $1800, and it's still a fairly good car).

Coming home was definitely a good idea.

I was unexpectedly without internet when I got home last night. That was a slightly unwelcome surprise, as I was rather expecting to be able to check email and talk to people, but whatever. We've got a new wireless router now, new as in bought it today at the Apple store in Emeryville, and it's working FABULOUSLY. I am now able to connect to the internet in my room, which our old, suckass lame-o router wouldn't allow me to do.

It's kind of funny, because I came home to relax, but my family doesn't really... let me. I know they'd let me relax if I was really getting tired, but I guess I was running on adrenaline; I'm now exhausted and pretty brain dead (but I did try to do modly things over at [info]lumos_founders, anyway... NPCing is hard, and even harder when you're tired >.>;;). I'm too tired to sum it all up, but I already said it all to [info]serpentqueen13, so...

[info]hecticity: sorry about earlier. i went to the apple store with my dad and then we went to lunch and then i ended up shopping for shoes and books (bought my own copy of good omens so i can send it back as soon as i'm done) and then i got kidnapped to accompany my grandma to get an MRI and she asked me a ton of questions about you and your family and then couldn't remember the answers cause she was doped up on valium to keep from being claustrophobic and then we went out to dinner.
[info]serpentqueen13: hahahaha
[info]serpentqueen13: its ok

... yeah.

My mother's bugging me about applying for the internship I'm not sure I want and I still need to finish my latin assignments and figure out about a job. I just want to relax. >.>;;

I'm sure it will be better once I get this shit done though. I wasn't exactly planning on having stuff to do when I got home, I thought it'd be all happy puppy cuddles and mom's cooking. Which it is, but it's other stuff too.

I love this city though. When I walk down the street, there are pretty trees and people of different colours speaking different languages and you smell pot just as often as you smell jasmine. It's alive in a way that Colorado Springs isn't, and I don't really know how to explain it any better than that.

It's good to be home.

I'm not a SoCal resident (thank God) but this makes me feel really bad for them :|

It's so odd that when it's snowing here (well, not anymore, but it was) there are fires back home. And it's incredibly selfish of me, but I am incredibly glad they're not spreading north. Apparently it's been raining and a bit cold in the Bay Area.

Studying, here I come :|
